Forever Young & CIGNA For Dental Care

  • June 6, 2016

What’s important to you when you think about dental care for your family? For starters, you want to go to a dentist office that provides quality general dentistry.

It’s also important to know if that office works with your dental insurance provider.

Forever Young Dentistry can meet both of those requirements for patients in Sterling Heights, Troy, Rochester Hills and anywhere in between who are covered by CIGNA dental insurance.

You want to keep your mouth healthy, and you want to get the most value that you can from your coverage. You can accomplish both at our practice.

Elite Dental Care

Our patients deserve the best care that we can provide. This is why we have incorporated state-of-the-art technology into what we do.

A great example of this is our cone beam image scanner. This allows us to see more of your teeth and the supporting bone structures than ever before.

Cone beam technology is similar to what is used in a CAT scan machine, only this is smaller. A cone beam scanner captures hundreds of images of your head. These “slices” can be assembled with a computer program to generate a three-dimensional model of your teeth and jaw.

This is an invaluable tool if you need teeth removed. It may help if you should need orthodontic treatment, and it can assist in planning for dental implant placement.

Another way we use technology for the benefit of our patients is our same-day crowns. Dental crowns can be used to fix teeth that have been damaged due to an injury or accident, decayed by cavities, or discolored for a variety of reasons.

At some offices, you will have to make multiple visits to get a dental crown. First, the dentist has to reshape your tooth. He or she has to order the crown, and later, you will return to have the crown placed.

At Forever Young Dentistry, we can complete the entire process in a single visit. Thanks to the Planmeca Fit System, we can create your dental crown in our office. You can have your tooth reshaped and your crown placed on the same day.

Family Care

If you have children, we invite you to visit us after their first tooth erupts. We want to monitor your children’s oral health, but we also want to build a relationship that will continue for years as their dental needs change.

During that first visit, we will do everything we can to make it a fun experience for your child. He or she will get to ride in the dentist’s chair, and we’ll take a look at his or her teeth to make sure everything is in order.

Routine visits are important a couple times a year for children and their parents. One in four children under 4 years old will develop tooth decay, and more than 90 percent of American adults will have at least one cavity in their lives.

We also offer dental sealants. These are a protective coating that can be applied to the teeth that are most likely to have cavities. The coating creates a barrier, which makes it less likely that bacteria that cause tooth decay will be able to do so.

And if you have budding athletes in your family, you want to protect their teeth during practices and games. We can create custom-fitted athletic mouthguards, which are proven to be the most effective at reducing and minimizing injuries.

Dr. Young

Our dentist, Dr. Young, got into dentistry to give something back to the state that has helped him so much.

Dr. Young grew up in Saginaw, MI, before graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in biology. He continued his education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1994.

He has gained tremendous experience in his decades of practice, but he’s also made continuing education a priority. He completed the Kois Center for Advanced Dental Learning, and as of 2005, he also serves as a mentor for that program. In 2008, he went through a mini-residency by Nobel Biocare regarding dental implants and implant placement.
