Plus, Invisalign won’t interfere with your marathon training or your music lessons.

How Invisalign Compares To Braces

If you ever were a teenager, then you knew someone who wore braces. You may have worn them yourself.

You are familiar with how they work. The wearer has brackets attached to his or her teeth. The brackets may be metal or ceramic.

A wire runs through the brackets. They work together to guide the movement of the wearer’s teeth. Some braces also have small rubber bands to assist in moving the teeth.

It’s common for people to wear braces for two years or longer. During that time, the wearer often has to avoid certain foods so they don’t get stuck, cause their brackets to come loose, or cause the wire to bend or break.

With Invisalign, you don’t have to worry about brackets, wires, or tiny rubber bands. Instead, you will receive a custom-designed series of plastic aligners that fit over your teeth. Each aligner is made of a clear plastic that makes them virtually invisible when they are on your teeth.

Wear brackets and wires push and pull your teeth, each aligner gently pushes your teeth. Each time you change aligners, you will know that you are a little closer to having the straight smile that you desire.

You will need to wear aligners most of the time, but you can remove them for up to two hours per day to eat and to brush and floss your teeth.

Who Is A Good Candidate For Invisalign?

Pretty much anyone with mild or moderate misalignment problems, which includes more people than you probably realize.

This is why a consultation is important before your begin any orthodontic treatment. It’s important to know what your options are. We are not going to recommend something unless we are confident that it will give you the results that you want.

Invisalign has helped several our of patients, including teenagers and older, working adults. In fact, many patients prefer Invisalign because it is a more discreet way to complete their orthodontic care.

A Success Story

One of our patients shared his experience with Invisalign at our office.

Steve was in his 50s when he decided that he wanted to change his smile. We discussed the options with him, and he did not like the idea of wearing braces. As Invisalign technology improved, we told him about this option.

Steve appreciated that he didn’t have to go to an orthodontist office and that he didn’t have to wear braces. To him, Invisalign was a “win-win” option.

Can you relate to Steve’s story? Do you want straighter teeth but without the hassles that can come with traditional braces?
